Welcome to the Japanese School of Volleyball featuring your coach Taichi Kawaguchi, Professional Japanese libero. Explore the disciplined style of Japanese volleyball usually hidden behind lock and key.

Japanese Volleyball is very different from what we learn in the west. It's technical and more advance. The Japanese team is usually outmatched in height but still ranks amongst the top countries in the world for volleyball.

This course is set to explore this and show you that volleyball is more than just height and power. Explore a disciplined and versatile style from which every pro I know still learns. A need for all undersized players and those looking to level up from the most technically skilled region.

Day 1: Setting Progression

Day 2: Japanese Setting Philosophy

Day 3: Becoming an Efficient Defender

Day 4: Defensive Positioning

Day 5: Blocker and Defender Relationship

Day 6: Defensive Mentality

Day 7: Key to Success

This course is subbed and breaks the language barrier that's stopped many from learning the secrets behind the efficiency and raw skill of the Japanese style.

Very basic info

I hate to write this, but definitely not worth 100 dollars. The lessons he gives are very very fundamental, so simple that I could give you everything he told you to do in . In one of his lesson two sentences. For one lesson, the entire video is about being balanced, and the other is simply about being simple. Another one is about being honest with your teammate, and communicating with your teammates (which is taught in JV volleyball). I could tell you the same thing he said in three videos, in three sentences. Two stars only because I love Taichi and Libero academy and what you guys have done and because the setting lesson was pretty decent, and editing overall was amazing; but come on, the information in this course has already been covered by thousands of Youtube videos. Whether you're a beginner or advanced player, save your money and just watch elevate yourself or Taichi's game film instead.

Ouch. I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with Taichi's course. As a 13x professional libero, I took a lot of value of the Japanese approach, which is to layer the skills, rather than rushing. Even the basic things, I took value re-thinking my game and where I have rushed skills and where I can be more simplistic, minimalist and even re-thinking my defensive hand posture. I'm happy to hear you've enjoyed the Libero Academy and once again, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy Taichi's journey through the sport.
